SITE INFORMATION – statutory holiday entitlement problems

If you pay the minimum Statutory Holiday*, then there are different entitlements in the year to October 2007 (20 days) and the year to October 2008 (24 days). So the total holiday an employee is due depends on the number of weeks they work in each year.

This calculator will help you work out your employee's entitlement.

You can use it to work out 12 months entitlement; or a lesser period for someone joining or leaving.

If days in the week have different hours, it will be more fair to give holidays in hours. Just multiply average daily hours, by the number of days holiday from the calculator. That is the employee's holiday entitlement in hours.

*The minimum Statutory Holiday figure includes Annual Holiday and Public Holidays (currently there are 8 Public Holidays in England). These days have to be paid at normal salary.
